“Avangard” Educational and Methodological Center Starts to Prepare for the Finals of the All-Russian Young Army League of Club for the Lightheaded and Quick-Witted

On the first day “Young Army” trainees had a tour over “Avangard” Center – the youths tried their hand in driving a truck, trained to shoot guns, and jumped with parachutes in a simulator.

“Avangard” Educational and Methodological Center has started to prepare for the finals of the All-Russian Young Army League, which will take place on 11thDecember in the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army. The “Children of Caspiy”, “Model School”, Combined Team of Children of People’s Deputies, “La Rochelle” and “48/60” teams will compete for the main award.

In May games of the Young Army League of Club for the Lightheaded and Quick-Witted were held online. The jury included Roman Romanchenko, Hero of Russia, Pilot-Cosmonaut; Viktor Vdovichenko, Director of Programs of “AMiK” TV Creative Association; and participants of the High League Aleksey Krivenya, Gar Dmitriev, Maxim Konyukhov and others. Eventually, “Children of Caspiy (Astrakhan Region)”, “Model School” (Volgograd Region), Combined Team of Children of People’s Deputies (Vologda Region), “La Rochelle” (Samara Region) and “48/60” (Lipetsk Region) got to the finals.

“The youths are going to have a busy week of rehearsals, getting props ready, and working with the editorial team. They all aim for the gold. However, it is safe to call them all victors already. The participants have come a long way and earned their spot in the finals competing with multiple teams. Moreover, the games were held online – that was the first time we used the formal and everyone had to adjust to the new situation”, said Anton Kuznetsov, Director of the Department of Military Patriotic Education of the “Young Army” Headquarters.

The teams barely managed to make themselves feel at home before starting rehearsals. Each group met with the editors of the forthcoming finals. Experienced mentors advised the youths on best ways to elaborate different topics, enhance their jokes, use props and interact with the audience.

On the first day of their stay in the Center, “Young Army” trainees had a tour over “Avangard”. They visited a classroom equipped with truck simulators, where everyone had a chance to drive a “KamAZ” and try their hand in driving the truck in sunny, rainy and snowy weather. In the shooting gallery, the youths found out how accurately they can aim by shooting electronic targets with guns and rifles. The youths got all excited by a parachute jump simulator. This simulator is a suspended system with strapping and VR glasses, which make the virtual world as close to the real one as possible.

Following the trend, the participants started their own channel on TikTok: @tiktok_teremok. In a joking manner, they tell everyone about life in “Avangard” and preparation for the finals. Find out more news on the “Young Army” official website and on official pages of the Movement in social media.
