Courage lesson for Avangard cadets: traveling around the World on a catamaran
Cadets of the Avangard training and methodological center for military-patriotic education of young people met with the traveler Yevgeny Tashkin, who as part of the expedition circumnavigated the Earth on an inflatable sailing catamaran.
The round-the-world trip was divided into several stages. First, the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean took five months, and the Pacific Ocean-13 months. The expedition included 6 people from different cities of the country, including the youngest participant Evgeny Tashkin, who at that time was 38 years old.
During the meeting with the Avangard cadets, the hero showed the children photos and videos taken by him during the trip, and told about his credo: all borders exist only in our head, and therefore, if you learn to overcome them, everything is possible.
"My story is the story of an ordinary kid who wants to see the whole world. I rafted on the rivers of the Altai — the category of danger of rafting increased. When there was nowhere else to complicate it, I wanted to test myself in another area of travel. On the radio, I heard Anatoly Kulik's story about navigating the Indian Ocean. I thought for six months, tried on this "jacket".. And I realized what I wanted. I want to see with my own eyes what Columbus, Magellan, Thor Heyerdahl saw...", - said Evgeny.
According to the hero, during the voyage, the team faced many difficulties, but neither seasickness, nor hurricane-force winds, nor eight-meter waves, nor shark attacks did not become an obstacle to the realization of the dream.
The sailors met with the leaders of different countries, communicated with representatives of wild tribes. We also met the Queen of the Cook Islands, and the President of French Polynesia hosted an official reception for travelers. In total, they visited about 40 countries.
Evgeny admitted that after circumnavigating the globe and seeing how our planet works, he remained a Siberian in his heart and returned home with pleasure.
"By and large, it was an adventure worth living for. But I want to tell you that each of you can afford such an adventure. Maybe not in this format, but still, " Evgeny Tashkin addressed the cadets.
At the end of the meeting, the cadets decided to test the guest and asked him to become a Vanguard fighter for a while. Under the guidance of the instructor, Evgeny put on a combined-arms protective suit.
The guys asked questions to the traveler and took a photo as a souvenir.
