Employees of the Avangard center took part in the action "Candle of Memory" in the Main Church of the Armed Forces of Russia
On June 22, at exactly 4 am, the Main Church of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hosted the action "Candle of Memory". The ceremony was attended by employees of the training and methodological center for military-patriotic education of young people "Avangard", headed by Director Daria Borisova.
At the monument to Mothers, participants of the action placed candles with fire taken from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Avangard employees lit a memorial flame at the monuments with specially brought to the museum earth from the sites of the fiercest battles of the Great Patriotic War.
During the event, an audio recording of the first message about the sudden offensive of the Nazi troops was played in the early morning of June 22, 1941, which was voiced by the announcer Yuri Levitan, and a minute of silence was held.
The Great Patriotic War began 80 years ago, on June 22, 1941. This day is officially declared the day of remembrance and mourning. The fierce struggle against the Nazi invaders lasted 1,418 days and ended with the victory of the Red Army and its allies.
