From the idea to the premiere: director Maxim Lovkov spoke about the work on the film "The greater our glory. Khalkhin-Goal"
As part of the Storyboard project, the Avangard training center for military-patriotic education of young people hosted a screening of a documentary film about the victory of Soviet-Mongolian troops on the Khalkhin-Gol River, directed by Maxim Lovkov.
"The specifics of the director's profession is that you need to be constantly looking for new stories, read a lot of scripts. To create this film, the film crew, together with search engines, went on an international expedition that took place in May-June 2019 to battle sites that store evidence of the feat of our soldiers in distant Mongolia in the summer and autumn of 1939," said Maxim Lovkov.
The film reliably reveals the details of the events that took place 82 years ago at the Khalkin Gol River, where a military conflict occurred near the border of Manchuria, the territory occupied by the Japanese Empire, and Mongolia. The feed contains memoirs of expedition participants, expert opinions, archival information, and search engine results.
"We built the plot in two main thematic areas. The "big" global Story was reflected in the "small" human Story, which made the film true, authentic and sincere. In our time, when history is being rewritten anew, it is very important to convey to young people the correct vision of those events, " the director stressed.
The picture made a great impression on the cadets. Each of them had the opportunity to express their opinion about the director's work and ask questions to the guest of "Storyboards".
