More than 1,000 schoolchildren attended military training camps at the Avangard center in June

During the first month of summer, more than 1,000 high school students from general education schools in Moscow and the Moscow Region passed summer training camps for basic military training at the Avangard military-patriotic youth education center.

As part of one shift, cadets master a program that includes: combat, medical, physical training, practicing shooting skills in multimedia, pneumatic and practical shooting ranges, assembling and disassembling submachine guns, team tests, driving vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles, training on a parachute jump simulator, and so on.

In addition to training sessions, cadets participate in leisure activities: sports, creative, intellectual and team activities. As part of the "Reverse Side of the Star" project, two-time Olympic champion in gymnastics Svetlana Khorkina and Olympic medalist in speed skating Ivan Skobrev talked to schoolchildren and showed them several exercises to maintain physical fitness.

Avangard is a place where young people can learn more about serving in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as show their leadership skills, possibly decide on their future profession and find new friends. We playfully teach teenagers new subjects that are not taught at school, and try to make their stay in the center without phones as comfortable as possible," commented Daria Borisova, director of the Avangard Center.
