Sergey Shoigu Opened Ice Rink by the Main Cathedral of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
Sergey Shoigu, General of the Army, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, has opened the Ice Rink in Sobornaya Square by the Main Cathedral of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in “Patriot” Park in Moscow Region. The Press Service of the “Young Army” Military Patriotic Movement told “Radio 1” that its volunteers participated in the festivities.
“Young Army” volunteers performed a dance with burning snowflakes.
“Right now, when the severe epidemiological situation dictates its own strict rules and we’re all obliged to self-isolate, it is highly important to create a New Year atmosphere for youths. And “Young Army” volunteers lived up to our expectations. Our performance was the brightest and most entertaining, despite the fact that we had serious rivals, such as professional CSKA sportsmen, Olympic champions and award winners, who also performed in the ice rink. Such sports facilities will help us all to stay fit during the New Year festivities and offer thrilling outdoor activities for everyone”, said Nikita Nagorny, Olympic Award-Winner, Six-Time Champion of Europe, Three-Time World Champion, Head of the “Young Army” Headquarters.
In their ice performance the “Young Army” volunteers were joined by students of “Avangard” Center for Military Patriotic Education.
“We’ve just getting started. Much more is to come. And we are committed to strictly abiding by all the sanitary and hygienic requirements”, noted Darya Borisova, First Deputy Head of the “Young Army” Headquarters and Director of “Avangard” Center.
The 3,000 square meter ice rink can accommodate more than 400 skaters. Skating and skates rental will remain free for all winter.
Furthermore, guests of the complex will find there the largest in Moscow Region tubing slide.
